DENTON, Texas (KNTU) Ryan is ranked No. 3 in the state by the Associated Press, and Braswell held its first football practice on August 1, 2016.
The disparity showed when the Raiders beat the Bengals 38-7 on Friday, Sept. 29.
The game wasn’t as close as the 31 point differential suggested. Ryan jumped out to a 28-0 lead less that six minutes into the contest, and started putting in backups before the first quarter even concluded.
One of the starters pulled early was quarterback Spencer Sanders, who threw for a perfect 7-for-7 with 140 yards and three touchdowns.
Braswell attempted just two passes on the night for -4 yards, opting to establish a ground and pound running game that was spearheaded by Ki’Andre Jackson.
The junior finished with 130 yards on 17 carries, and scored the lone Bengals touchdown.
The victory for Ryan moves the program to 6-0 on the season and 2-0 in district play. The Raiders have now won 16 consecutive regular season games dating back to August 28, 2015.
Braswell’s next game will be October 7 against Sherman. Ryan’s next opponent is Sherman on October 14 after having a bye on October 7.
