DENTON, Texas (KNTU) While Ryan may end up taking the 5-5A district title, Denton High has still played its best regular season since 1998.

Five different players rushed for touchdowns in the Broncos (9-1, 5-1) 34-7 take down of Braswell on Thursday, Nov. 3.

Corbin Shelly led Denton in rushing with 18 carries for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Braswell (0-10, 0-6) finished off its first-ever varsity season winless, but with a lot to look forward to. The Bengals will return every player from this year’s varsity roster, including running back Ki’Andre Jackson, who rushed for 136 yards on 24 carries in Thursday’s game.

Denton has made it to the playoffs for a third straight year after having 10 consecutive losing seasons. The Broncos will take on Justin Northwest in the first round of the 5A playoffs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11.
